What factors will affect the precision of injection mold processing

How can we effectively improve the precision management of our injection molds during processing. First of all, we need to know which problems affect the production and processing accuracy of injection mold.

1. Dimensional accuracy

It refers to the conformity and degree between the actual working size of the machined part and the tolerance of the size of the part.

The dimensional accuracy is controlled by the dimensional tolerance. The dimensional tolerance is the allowable variation of the part size during the cutting process. When the basic dimensions are the same, the smaller the dimensional tolerance, the higher the dimensional accuracy.

2. Shape accuracy

It refers to the coincidence degree between the actual geometric shape of the machined part surface and the ideal geometric shape. There are 6 items for evaluating the shape accuracy, such as straightness, flatness, roundness, cylindricity and line profile. 

The form accuracy is controlled by the form tolerance. Except for roundness and cylindricity, all form tolerances are divided into 12 accuracy classes. Level 1 high, level 12 low.

3. Position accuracy

It refers to the actual working position and accuracy difference between enterprises after the parts are processed for relevant research. The items for evaluating the accuracy of a position information include parallelism, perpendicularity, inclination, coaxiality, symmetry, position, circular runout and total runout. 

Position positioning accuracy is controlled by position tolerance, and different position tolerances for various activities are also divided into 12 accuracy evaluation grades.

Generally, when designing mechanical parts and determining machining accuracy, attention should be paid to controlling the shape error in the position tolerance, and the position error should be less than the size tolerance.
