How do you get rid of dents in plastics?

1. Adjust the molding conditions

Sufficient material supply: Ensure that the screw or plunger is properly worn to avoid leakage of melt during injection and pressure holding, resulting in insufficient mold filling pressure and material volume.

Appropriate nozzle hole size: Too large or too small nozzle hole will affect the mold filling effect, and it is necessary to choose the appropriate nozzle hole size according to the material characteristics.

Optimize gate design: If the gate is too small or the runner design is not reasonable, the melt will be cooled prematurely, and the gate should be opened in the thick-walled part of the product and ensure the efficiency of the runner.

2. Mold optimization

Set up cooling water channel:Set up cooling water channel in the key parts of the mold, which can effectively reduce the shrinkage of the product.

Mold clamping sealing: Ensure that the mold is burr-free and has reliable clamping sealing, and can withstand high-pressure, high-speed, low-viscosity melt filling.

3. Adjust the process parameters

Increase injection pressure and holding pressure: Increasing the injection pressure and holding pressure can ensure that the melt fills the mold adequately, and extending the injection time helps the melt cure better.

Adjust the injection speed: Increasing the injection speed can easily fill the part and reduce shrinkage.

Control the mold temperature: The mold temperature should be increased for thin-walled parts, and the mold temperature should be lowered for thick-walled parts to accelerate the curing and shaping of the skin.

4. Improvement of raw materials

Add nucleating agent: For the raw material is too soft and prone to denting, you can add nucleating agent to the plastic to speed up the crystallization and reduce dents.
