Common problems and solutions of vacuum casting (一)

The production of vacuum mold is a process that tests the fine processing technology, for the production of vacuum molding, you may encounter: bulge damage, difficulty in demoulding, bubbles or defects, etc., the following are some common problems and coping strategies:

Bulging and breakage

Bulging and breakage can be due to the following:

(1) Uneven pressure: In the casting process, if the pressure is uneven, it will cause the silica gel to be over-squeezed in some areas and form bulges. It is also possible that the bulge is due to the improper design of the mold.

(2) Mold damage: Vacuum casting requires the use of molds to fix and protect the parts, and if the mold itself is defective or worn, it may lead to damage to the surface of the parts during the casting process.

(3) Quality problems: If the quality of the materials used is not good or expired, it may lead to uneven flow of materials or defects in the casting process.

Specific solutions to the above problems:

(1) Check the mold design and manufacturing quality to ensure that the pressure is evenly distributed. Repair or replace damaged molds. Use high-quality materials and follow proper operating procedures.

(2) Check whether the mold is worn or damaged, and replace or repair the mold if necessary.
Solution: Make sure you use high-quality materials and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and storage requirements.

(3) Quality problems: If the quality of the materials used is not good or expired, it may lead to uneven flow of materials or defects in the casting process.
