Broken knives and broken blades
Causes:
1. Excessive cutting force: Improper selection of cutting parameters, such as excessive cutting depth and rapid feed, resulting in cutting force exceeding the tool’s capacity.
2. Tool material and quality issues: The tool material is not suitable for processing materials, or the tool itself has quality defects, such as internal cracks, uneven structure, etc., which reduces the strength and toughness of the tool.
3. Serious tool wear: The tool is not replaced in time and is excessively worn, resulting in a decrease in tool strength and easy to break or chip.
4. Unreasonable processing technology: improper design of the machining path causes the tool to be impacted during the machining process; Uneven machining allowance will also cause uneven force on the tool.
Solution:
1. Reasonable setting of cutting parameters: according to the characteristics of the tool and workpiece material, reasonably select the cutting parameters to avoid excessive cutting force; During the machining process, the cutting speed and feed can be appropriately reduced to reduce the tool load.
2. Choose high-quality tools: Choose tools with reliable quality and suitable for processing materials; When purchasing tools, strictly check the quality of tools and avoid using defective tools.
3. Timely replacement of tools: Replace tools in time according to the service life of the tools; During the machining process, closely observe the wear of the tool and replace it in time when the wear is serious.
4. Optimize the machining process: reasonably design the machining path to avoid unnecessary impact on the tool; For workpieces with uneven machining allowance, step-by-step machining can be used to make the tool force uniform.
