It is difficult to demould the mold
Difficulty in demoulding a vacuum casting mold can be caused by the following reasons:
(1) Excessive adhesion: After curing, the silicone material may have strong adhesion to the surface of the mold, making it difficult for the mold to detach from the parts.
(2) Unreasonable mold design: The design of the mold may have sharp angles, grooves or uneven surfaces, which increases the contact area and adhesion between the mold and the silicone.
(3) Rough or damaged mold surface: The unsmooth, scratched or damaged mold surface will increase adhesion and lead to difficult mold removal.
Methods to deal with the difficulty of demoulding vacuum casting molds include:
(1) Use mold release agent: Before casting, apply the appropriate mold release agent on the mold surface. The mold release agent is able to form a thin film between the mold and the silicone, reducing adhesion and making the mold easier to detach.
(2) Optimize mold design: Consider using smooth curved surfaces and avoiding sharp angles or grooves to reduce the contact area between the mold and the silicone. Make sure the surface of the mold is smooth and avoid scratches or damage.
(3) Control the curing time and temperature of silica gel: The curing time and temperature of silica gel also have an impact on the mold detachment. According to the guidance of the silicone material, control the curing time and temperature to avoid over-curing and increasing adhesion.
(4) Application of mechanical assistance: In the process of mold detachment, appropriate mechanical assistance is applied, such as gently tapping the mold or using hand tools to easily move the mold to help the mold separate from the silicone
